Living a life of commitment is something that every responsible person hopes to do. We all have the best of intentions of living a life of commitment when it comes to following through on those things that we have made a commitment to do. Whether the commitment we make is to ourselves or to others.  Sometimes, along the road of success towards fulfilling our commitments, we get ourselves in situations or circumstances that make us think that is would just be easier to break our commitment than to continue in keeping it.

When this sort of thinking sets in, we begin to rationalize our choice to live a life of a commitment. We begin to look for ways to pull back from it. Our thoughts (those vain imaginations) come up with all sorts of excuses why we can’t continue. We even get to the point in our thinking of shifting the blame of our own failure and lack of commitment onto others.

Giving up on a commitment that we have made is not a benchmark of a successful leader or what great legacies are built upon. Walking away from tough challenges in our lives is not what makes for a successful track record.
